Leading off today: The superintendents of the respective school districts announced Saturday that the Warrensburg/Lake George/Bolton football season has been terminated following allegations of inappropriate conduct of a sexual nature toward a student, Albany-area media reported.
The Wolverines are ranked No. 1 in the state in Class D by the New York State Sportswriters Association. They were not scheduled to play this weekend and would have begun the Section 2 playoffs against Stillwater on Nov. 8.
According to a statement released by Warrensburg Superintendent Amy Langworthy, the incident in question involving multiple members of the team took place several weeks ago on a district bus. The statement said the Warren County Sheriff's Office was notified and has begun an investigation.
Warren County Sheriff's Office officials were not immediately able to confirm whether there is an investigation or provide further details, the Times Union reported.
"This egregious behavior is a clear violation of district and athletic code of conduct rules, and stands in stark contrast to the core values and culture of our districts, "the statement said. "Each District is committed to maintaining a safe, productive, and positive environment for all students -- both within our schools and at all school-sponsored events."
The statement was issued jointly by Langworthy, Lake George Superintendent John Luthringer, and Bolton Superintendent Chad Shippee.
• Section 2 football chairman Sean Colfer told the paper a meeting on Sunday will determine how to adjust the Class D semifinals pairings.

Patchogue-Medford forfeits following incident
Patchogue-Medford forfeited its final football game of the season after the team was accused of vandalizing a bathroom at an away game last weekend, Superintendent Donna Jones revealed in an email obtained by
Newsday.
"As a result of the inexcusable behavior and vandalism by members of the Patchogue-Medford High School Varsity Football Team to bathroom facilities at Lindenhurst School District's Alleghany Elementary School during an away game this past weekend, Friday's varsity football game against Sachem has been forfeited," the statement read.
Jones' statement said AD Anthony Cracco and coaches met with the team on Monday and Tuesday and asked for the players responsible to take responsibility. No players did, prompting the decision to forfeit.
Patchogue-Medford was scheduled to take a 2-5 record into this weekend's game.
According to Cracco, the estimate Lindenhurst officials estimated the cost of the cleanup and repair at less than $1,000.
