Chillis, who began the season as a receiver and ran for 254 yards a week earlier against Hutch-Tech, scored on runs of 2, 70, 27, 66 and 60 yards. He had 15 carries for 252 yards and two scores in the first half as McKinley built a 20-14 lead.
Carmel survives: Mahopac quarterback Tim Taps' two-point conversion pass with :11 to play fell incomplete, preserving Carmel's 35-33 win over the state's No. 25 Class AA squad.
It was the second straight year the Rams defense stopped Mahopac in the final seconds. The Indians blocked a field-goal attempt with 1:10 to go and then drove to a one-yard Justin Autera TD run to cut the margin to 35-33.
"I've been coaching here for 16 years, and every game has been just like this," Carmel coach Todd Cayea said of the series vs. Mahopac. "This was just another classic."
Carmel junior R.J. Krauss rushed for 206 yards, including 141 in the first half to build a 21-7 lead.
Saturday's rapid recap: Class D No. 14 Tuckahoe, reeling from losses to Dobbs Ferry and Rye Neck, got a 24-yard TD pass from Anthony Gentile to Richard Bray with 1:40 to play to fend off Bronxville, 14-12. The win was the 100th for John D'Arco, who has spent seven seasons at Tuckahoe and was at Eastchester from 1984-93.
Clay Ardoin ran 24 times for 221 yards and four touchdowns as No. 4 Dolgeville beat No. 10 Utica Notra Dame in Class D, 42-14. Ardoin ran 44 yards in the first quarter and opened the secord quarter with a one-yard scoring carry for a 14-0 lead.
Nick Finger ran for 289 yards and two touchdowns to lead Millbrook past Liberty, 30-20.
Rye, No. 1 in Class B, topped Ardsley, 35-6, for its 54th straight victory against Section 1 competition. Senior fullback Kyle Ramalho (17 carries, 99 yards) opened the scoring with TD runs of two and three yards.
Terrell Williams' third TD of the game and 18th of the season was a 101-yard interception return as Hempstead earned a 27-7 triumph against Freeport, No. 22 in Class AA, to leave both squads 5-1. "He's the best player I've seen since I've been here," said sixth-year coach Antoine Moore, a Hempstead star from 1985-87. "I thought I was a pretty good running back, but he's far greater."
Class AA No. 1 Orchard Park continued to impress with a 47-6 romp over Niagara-Wheatfield. Kyle Hoppy (8-for-10, 127 yards) threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more, and Jeff Tundo (22 carries, 148 yards) ran for three scores. Orchard Park registered 423 yards of total offense.
Grand Island's Alex Neutz had eight catches for 229 yards and three TDs and also scored on a 33-yard interception return to beat Niagara Falls, 26-0. Joe Oliverio was 10-of-16 for 224 passing yards.
Class C No. 6 Cleveland Hill survived against Cheektowaga JFK, 22-14, finally taking the lead on Peter Westbrooks’ five-yard run with 3:35 left.
