Leading off today: Canisius senior
Elijah Kimble is Western New York's all-time leading rusher after carrying 13 times for 263 yards Saturday during a 43-14 victory over Huron Heights from Ontario.
Kimble scored touchdowns from 1, 25, 40, and 80 yards while upping his career yardage total to 6,626 to surpass the mark of 6,559 by Jehuu Caulcrick of Clymer through the 2002 season.
He reached Caulcrick's record with a 6-yard run late in the second quarter.
Canisius called a timeout. A crown was placed on the Syracuse commit's head, and family members joined him on the field.
"It was a full-circle moment," Kimble told The Buffalo News. "Everything I had to go through, the good and the bad, it all makes sense today."

In-season coaching change in Section 3
Weedsport AD Jon Sgarlata has stepped in as the football coach for Weedsport/Jordan-Elbridge after the resignation last week of Adam Godfrey. Sgarlata had already been working as an assistant coach for the first-year merged program.
Weedsport/J-E lost to Southern Hills in Week 6 in Sgarlata's second game in charge to drop to 0-5 for the season.
"There was nothing specific really," Sgarlata told Syracuse.com regarding Godfrey's departure. "It happened pretty fast. It was mostly over a couple of days last week. I would say maybe 48 hours or so. Just some discussions happening amongst the coaches and players. You can see the struggles we're having. But in terms of the details around his resignation is really a little bit more his personal decision."
Florida drops the hammer
The Florida High School Athletic Association has banned the nationally ranked Miami Carol City football team from the 2026 postseason and suspended 15 players following a post-game brawl with a Georgia team.
The ruling came Wednesday after a review of the Oct. 2 incident vs. Grayson High and a report by Carol City.
Four players are suspended through Dec. 13, nine were hit with five-game bans, and two were ordered to sit out one contest.
The football program was placed on probation and the school was fined $1,500. The playoff ban eliminates one of the top contenders for a place in Florida's new Open Division tournament.
