Senior Maria Vasaturo, who stands 5-foot-2, is believed to be the first female to play baseball for a Staten Island varsity squad. Vasaturo, who will attend Fordham in the fall, is 0-for-2 at the plate this spring for SIA, which has not fielded a softball team since 2004.

Wolstromer, 40, of Coram has been arrested and charged with harassment after repeatedly following girls from Sayville's soccer team, Suffolk County police said. Players said they noticed Wolstromer tailing them in his car as far back as September. He was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court June 27.
