Leading off today: Hundreds of motorcyclists rode to a Penfield intersection Wednesday in tribute to Robert Schwind, who was killed there Monday in
a collision with a car driven by a Duke-bound girls soccer defender.
Gretchen Miller, 18, an All-Greater Rochester and Parade All-American selection at Our Lady of Mercy, was ticketed for failure to yield to Schwind's motorcycle in connection with the accident, which happened about 9:30 p.m.
Sheriff's Office spokesman Cpl. John Helfer said Schwind, 26, was driving south on Route 250 when Miller, driving north, turned left into parking lot and collided with the motorcycle. Helfer said an investigation continues; the speed of Schwind's motorcycle may have been a factor.
