Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007: Tri-Valley meet kicks off season
The first starter's pistol of the 2007 New York cross country season was fired on Saturday at Tri-Valley High School in Grahamsville.

In this 3.0-mile race, the times posted where nothing much to talk about. Jessica Fingers from Monticello ran in 20:00.4, beating all competitors by almost 40 seconds in a small field of 22 runners.

Although it was a course record, Brendan Devine completed the 4,828-meter race in a pedestrian 17:23-minute clocking, beating his next best competitor by 1:21. Devine was 21st in the state Class A meet a year ago.

Finish line: On the Tullyrunners.com site, information on the New York State Public High School Athletic Association championships has been posted and updated as of Aug. 29.
